grnVoIP is able to terminate calls using the most widely used VoIP codecs, including G.729, G.711, Speex and iLBC. For Standard Routes, our carrier selection has been optimized for use with the G.729 codec. If you set this as your first priority codec, you will maximize your chances for completing calls. That said, we use many underlying carriers for termination, and each carrier has different capabilities. As a result, some codecs may not complete on some routes, depending on which of our underlying carriers receives the call. Normally, our softswitch will allow your endpoint and the carriers to negotiate the mutually preferred codec. If you encounter problems using Speex or iLBC, please contact our tech support team, and we will re-route your traffic as needed to ensure it is handled properly |
